Ethiopian Students Protest MK Solodkin’s Remarks

Ethiopian Students Protest MK Solodkin’s Remarks 15:34 Oct 12, '06 / 20 Tishrei 5767

(IsraelNN.com) Ethiopian students on Thursday morning protested outside the Knesset against remarks made this week by Kadima MK Marina Solodkin. Solodkin, who has been suggested as a candidate for Minister of Immigrant Absorption, suggested that foreign workers from Thailand be replaced by Ethiopians.

Their is a segment of the Israeli "elite" that think they are above working and have long felt that the hard work in Israel should be done by the Jews that happen to have darker skin.

This started with Ben Gurion who said the only reason that he brought the Yemenite Jews is so they could do the dirty work and so the children of the "elite" could study in university.

It to our shame is an idea that is still alive in Israel today.

In normal country MK from Kadima Marina Solodkin would be out on her ear, but in Israel of today I am sure she will make a "fine" Minister of Immigration.

For those of you that have never had the pleasure and the honor of meeting any of the Jews from Ethiopia, they as a group have been some the finest and warmest people that you could ever hope to meet.
