Peretz: Tax Rebate Funds to PA -- Olmert Aides: Nice Try

(IsraelNN.com) A suggestion by Defense Minister Amir Peretz to release tax rebates collected on behalf of Palestinian Authority Arabs was shot down on Thursday by aides to Prime Minister Ehud Olmert.

Olmert aides said the present agenda does not include liquidating funds to the PA, and told the Ynet news service, “It is very beautiful that Amir Peretz is distributing checks, but it is a shame that he has no right to sign them.”
