Poll: One-Third of PA Arabs Blame U.S. for Problems 20:10 Oct 22, '06 / 30 Tishrei 5767(IsraelNN.com) One-third of Arabs in Judea, Samaria and Gaza blame United States foreign policy for the political problems in the Palestinian Authority (PA), according to a new poll conducted by the Palestinian Center for Public Opinion.
Slightly less than 28 percent said that Hamas's unwillingness to change its positions is to blame for the political crisis, while 13.9 percent blamed PA president Mahmoud Abbas, head of the Fatah faction.
More than half of the respondents oppose Hamas's refusal to accept the Quartet's conditions for receiving foreign aid, but almost one-third rate Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, who is PA prime minister, as the most credible personality to be charged with forming a national unity government.
