(IsraelNN.com) Lebanese Druze leader Walid Jumblatt told WorldNetDaily Tuesday that last week's Democratic party sweep in the Congressional elections sent a message of weakness to Syria that probably will result in "instability and chaos" in the Middle East.
Jumblatt, a prominent anti-Syrian politician, asserted that the Democrats' call for an American withdrawal from Iraq helped give Hizbullah the courage to quit the Lebanese Cabinet Saturday. "The Syrians play this game where they have been waiting for the Americans to get weaker in Iraq," said Jumblatt. "The Syrians are trying to profit from the circumstances by creating havoc and by using Hezbollah to stage a coup d'etat."
Last week, WND reported that terrorists were hoping for a Democratic win in the elections, which they said would prove that Americans are tired of the war.
