(IsraelNN.com) The IDF is systematically exempting nationalist oriented draftees on the basis of psychiatric tests, but the army refuses to disclose pertinent information as required by the law, the Israel Policy Center has charged. The group filed a petition in a Tel Aviv Court demanding it be shown data concerning the rejected youth, according to the Hebrew daily Ha'aretz.

The organization, associated with the nationalist camp, disclosed several examples of the army's use of political and religious interrogation to weed out unwanted draftees. It cited the case of a young man from Jerusalem who was at the protest during the demolition of the Amona community, was not arrested and was not involved in the police violence against demonstrators. Army personnel exempted him from service after asking him if would listen to orders by rabbis and if he would be willing expel Jews from their homes in future demolitions.

The family of the teenager took him for a psychiatric examination. It found him perfectly fit for service, but the army did not accept the report.
