(IsraelNN.com) Syria is more prepared to enter into a conflict with Israel since the Jewish State’s failure to win a decisive victory against Hizbullah terrorists in the second Lebanon War this summer, according to Mossad Chief Meir Dagan.

The security official told the Knesset Defense and Foreign Affairs Committee, “Israel’s military deterrence was damaged in the war. Therefore, Assad’s self-confidence grew,” he said. “They are prepared to take more risks than in the past.”

Dagan added there is now an increased likelihood that Syria will respond more promptly now to any perceived Israeli provocation than it might otherwise have done.
