During the operation another cell member, who was reportedly involved in the development of weapons and was behind a number of shooting incidents in the Sharon area, was injured and later apprehended.
The injured Palestinian was apparently identified as Amer Barakeh, while the dead terror cell member was named as Jaser Zarib.
Zarib died of his wounds at the Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva.
'Attempts to launch rockets will continue'
The security establishment has been tracking the terror cell for the past few months, and so far has been able to detain about 10 of its members.
The cell is reportedly associated with the al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades, Fatah’s armed wing.
It is estimate that Barakeh will be able to disclose sensitive information once he recovers.
