Abbas Gets New Weapons

(IsraelNN.com) According to the Haaretz newspaper, Jordan recently transferred 3,000 M-16 rifles to Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas. Egypt recently gave Abbas 2,500 AK-47 rifles, and Egypt and Jordan together donated three million bullets.

The increased weapons imports are part of Fatah’s efforts to gain a military edge over rival terrorist group Hamas, which senior Fatah officials have claimed are planning to attack them in the near future. Fatah has also added 1,000 new members to its own forces, and plans to add another 1,000. Hamas is trying to add new members and weapons as well, but has more trouble getting weapons as it is generally recognized as a terrorist group.
