Gazan Cafe Owners Appeal to PA for Protection

(IsraelNN.com) Owners of Internet cafes in Palestinian Authority-controlled Gaza have appealed to the PA to stop attacks on their businesses. 48 Internet cafes have been attacked in the past five months, mostly with homemade bombs. There have been no fatalities in the attacks, which have taken place at night when the businesses are closed, but owners report several thousand dollars worth of damage in many of the bombings.

A new group calling itself the Swords of Islamic Righteousness has claimed responsibility for the attacks. The group has explained the attacks in emails to cafe owners, saying that the Internet distracts Muslim men from their prayers and can be used to view pornography. The group has also attacked stores selling music and movies, women accused of dressing immodestly, and pharmacies that sell drugs which can be used for recreational purposes.

Wow what a progressive society the Palestinians are building. Such a model for the future, I think that the President of the United States should get behind this model for democracy and not only support their getting a State. But I think that America could use the Palestinian model for Iraq.
