Would-Be Suicide Bomber is New Bride

(IsraelNN.com) A would-be suicide bomber arrested late Monday night by soldiers was recently married, local Arabs reported. The woman, 19-year-old Najo Hashash of Shechem, is currently being held in custody and questioned by security services, after IDF officials received several reports that she planned to carry out an attack. Hashash’s neighbors explained that she had been extremely unhappy since her marriage, because her husband is sick. Local Fatah terrorists saw her desperation and recruited her for an attack, they said.

Women are playing an increasingly large role in suicide bombings, according to IDF reports. Two of five suicide bombings in 2006 were carried out by women. Both women killed only themselves, while lightly wounding nearby soldiers.
