Syria Orders MiG-31E Jets from Russia(IsraelNN.com) According to the Middle East Newsline, Syria recently ordered MiG-31E fighter jets from Russia. The contract was reportedly signed in early 2007, and the jets will be delivered in the upcoming months.
Experts said that the jets would dramatically improve Syria’s air combat abilities. A Russian source was quoted as calling the deal “the start of a new era.”
