Destroying The Past And The Future

IDF, PA meet for highest-level security talks held since 1994 By Amos Harel and Avi Issacharoff, Haaretz Correspondents Last update - 07:10 31/08/2007 www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/899369.html

All Palestinian security organizations in the West Bank met Thursday with
their Israel Defense Forces counterparts in the highest-level talks held
since 1994 in Beit El army headquarters, near Ramallah.

At the meeting the Palestinians requested the IDF remove roadblocks, which
they said would be an important gesture for the Palestinian people during
the approaching holy month of Ramadan.

The IDF promised to consider a variety of measures that would ease the
difficulty in travel faced by the Palestinian population in the West Bank.
However, at this stage they did not specify the roadblocks that would be
lifted.

IDF Brigadier General Tivon said that as long as there are no terrorist
attacks and the security of the Israelis is safeguarded, it will be possible
to ease restrictions on the movement of Palestinians.

He promised that as Ramadan approaches, he will stress in his orders to the
troops under his command that they should exhibit greater sensitivity to the
needs of the civilian population.

All the heads of the Palestinian Authority's security organizations
operating in the West Bank were present at the meeting. These included the
head of the National Security organization in the West Bank, General Diab
al-Ali, as well as the commanders of Preventive Security, the police, the
General Intelligence Service, Military Intelligence and the head of the
civilian liaison office, Hussein al-Sheikh.

So once again the Israeli civilian public is asked to place their collective heads on the chopping block, to try an appease scum.

When we look at this week we see President Peres working to set free terrorist that murdered three Jews. We see the Palestinians racing with heavy equipment on the Temple Mount destroying its Jewish past.

We have seen this week how General Dayton the American security coordinator for the Palestinians has a new plan for the importation, training and arming of 5,000 terrorist in an attempt to bolster Abbas. The General tried the same thing in Gaza and 100% of those weapons and men are now commanded by Hamas. I still think the whole Hamas- Fatah civil war is a put on to get America to do just what it is doing.

We now hear that the Israeli has given in a written document the following to Abbas:

1. Israel will retreat from Judea and Samaria, leaving only a few of the bigger towns in place.
2. Safe passage will be created from Gaza to Judea and Samaria for terrorist.
3. Jerusalem will be divided into Arab and Jewish sections.

Right of return for Palestinians refugees still is an issue that is being negotiated. But we know that Israel has agreed to admit some degree of culpability in the creation of Palestinian refugees from 1948, the sticking point is if they will be allowed to return to Israel pre 1967. Israel has even committed to taking on the economic rehabilitation of Palestinian refugees.

All of this is in preparation for the American sponsored "peace" conference, just as the Palestinians are destroying the Jewish past, the American and Israelis are racing to destroy Israels future and the presence of Jews in the Land that G-D gave us.

With Friends Like This

U.S. coordinator plans 5 new Palestinian battalions in W. Bank
By Aluf Benn, Haaretz Correspondent

A new plan by the U.S. security coordinator in the territories, General Keith Dayton, calls for the deployment of five new Palestinian battalions throughout the West Bank.

The plan, whose aim is to bolster Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas, requires the approval of Israel if arms and equipment are to be transferred for the new force, political sources in Jerusalem said Wednesday.

The plan, which is still in its early development, is likely to call for the staged creation of the force, with relatively small units undergoing the necessary training.

Last week, the U.S. Congress authorized for the first time the transfer of $80 million to the security delegation headed by Dayton, which will be used to bolster the security forces of Abbas. No funding has ever before been transferred to Dayton, and the money will now allow him to carry out his plans.

With friends like do we really need Hamas and Fatah?

Just what Israel needs in five battalions of American trained terrorist in Judea and Samara.

The addition of about 5,000 trained and armed terrorist will cost Jewish lives. Every time America has trained and equipped Palestinians the weapons have been turned against Israel. The CIA trained and equip Palestinians as snipers it took no time for the Palestinians to turn their .50 caliber sniper rifles against the apartments of innocent Israeli civilian in Jerusalem.

General Dayton pushed the same thing for Gaza as a way to bolster Abbas, today those weapons are in the hands of Hamas.

So why should we repeat this same mistake?

Israel needs to stand up to America and say enough is enough.

'Sharon Warned Bush: Hit Iran, Not Iraq'

'Sharon Warned Bush: Hit Iran, Not Iraq'

(IsraelNN.com) According to a former top U.S. Administration official, former Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon tried to convince George W. Bush not to invade Iraq in 2001, and told him "Iraq is not the enemy, Iran is the enemy."

The quotes appear in a report by the NFC news site, which identifies the official as "Gen (res.) Lawrence Wilkinson, one of former American Secretary of State Colin Powell's top advisors." He is also said to be "the person who, two years ago, exposed American intelligence's systematic lies before the Iraq War."

The official reportedly said that when Sharon understood that Bush was serious about invading Iraq, he asked to meet him, and relayed messages that "if you are going to upset the balance of power in the Middle East, this had better be done vis-à-vis the Iranians and not the Iraqis." Bush, however, refused to heed Sharon's advice. When Sharon understood that the invasion of Iraq was inevitable, he promised not to make Israel's opposition to it known.

Knesset C'tee to Debate Peres' Leniency to Murderers

Knesset C'tee to Debate Peres' Leniency to Murderers

(IsraelNN.com) Seven members of the Knesset's Constitution, Law and Justice Committee have signed a request for a special, urgent debate on the subject of President Peres' decision to make it possible for the convicted murderers of a Jewish Israeli child to go free after serving two thirds of their sentences.

A request by at least one third of the committee's members is necessary for convening a debate during the Knesset's recess. The move was initiated by MK Gidon Saar (Likud).

I don't think the Knesset will take on Peres any more than it will move to stop the destruction that is happening on the Temple Mount.

Policeman Assaulted Trying to Stop Illegal Temple Mount Dig

Policeman Assaulted Trying to Stop Illegal Temple Mount Dig by Hillel Fendel

(IsraelNN.com) A policeman trying to stop an Arab tractor engaged in illegal Temple Mount excavations was assaulted - and the police chief who arrived on the scene arrested no one.

Officials of the Moslem Waqf (religious body) on the Temple Mount are digging there illegally, likely destroying precious artifacts from as early as the First Temple period. So say eyewitnesses and representatives of the Committee for the Prevention of the Destruction of Temple Mount Antiquities.

Gideon Charlap, a top Jerusalem architect and Temple Mount expert, told Arutz-7 what he saw when he visited the Temple Mount on Tuesday: "The Arabs there are digging a deep north-to-south trench, up to a meter [1.1 yards] deep. It is being dug in the area that served during Holy Temple times as the Ezrat Nashim [the area known as the Women's Courtyard, though it was not reserved only for women -ed.]. The trench passes through three east-to-west walls, according to my calculations - walls that probably served as separations for the Temple's offices and the like. This means that the destruction is tremendous..."

"At one point during the digging," Charlap continued, "a policeman - apparently a Druze - tried to stop the work from going on, and actually entered the cabin of the tractor. A struggle ensued, and when the Arabs finally pushed him out, he actually stood in the trench and physically blocked the rest of the work!"
"But instead of stopping the lawbreakers," Charlap related with incredulity, "he tried to 'calm down' the policeman!"

Charlap said that at that point, the chief officer of the Temple Mount police station, Shai Alali, arrived on the scene. "But instead of stopping the lawbreakers," Charlap related with incredulity, "he tried to 'calm down' the policeman!"

Charlap said he was unable to see how the story developed from there, "because our allotted time was over." Jews are permitted onto the site - Judaism's most sacred anywhere in the world - only four or fewer hours a day.

Police Chief Shai Alali was unavailable for comment. A police spokesman told Arutz-7 that the man who tried to stop the digging was not a policeman. Charlap stands by his story, however.

The digging is taking place just east of the Dome of the Rock.

Millennia of Artifacts - Down the Drain
Dr. Eilat Mazar, an archaeologist and a leading member of the Committee for the Prevention of the Destruction of Temple Mount Antiquities, spoke with Arutz-7's Hebrew newsmagazine about the desecration. "It is an untenable situation," she said. "Underneath the Temple Mount is a closed area, one that has barely been disturbed since the Destruction of the Second Temple. Anyone can realize that remnants of both the First and Second Temples are there, and can guess what damage is being done by the tractor. The most precious findings are just rolling around there and are available to be found - and instead they have a tractor there! If I would try to work with a tractor at one of my digs, the Antiquities Authority would stop me immediately! With a tractor, it's impossible to make any type of careful examination of the earth and pieces being dug up."

"We are a public, voluntary body that has taken upon itself to inform and warn the public about what is going on," Mazar said. "The Antiquities Authority acts as if it is fulfilling its responsibility to supervise - but in fact all they have there is just one man watching but doing nothing. That is not supervision. It's just a deception to say that anyone is overseeing the wanton digging and desecration being carried out there against our greatest national cultural treasure."

Asked if there has been any lull of late in illegal digs on the Temple Mount, Dr. Mazar responded negatively. "They have a clear goal of turning the Temple Mount into a place exclusively for Moslem prayer. In recent years, they have turned two giant structures - at the Huldah Gate and Solomon's Stables - into giant mosques, where none ever stood before... It is totally illegal; how can such violations of the law be allowed - especially in such an important place for Jewish Nation? This is a top archaeological site, and the fact that it's not considered one of the Seven Wonders of the world is our fault, because we don't talk about it enough and certainly don't preserve it enough."

Arutz-7's Uzi Baruch offered, "Perhaps it's because of the politically sensitive nature of the site?"

Mazar answered, "Yes, it's a sensitive spot, but there's a big difference between acting wisely and delicately, on the one hand, and allowing wanton destruction and law-breaking, on the other hand. No good comes of simply turning the other cheek, trying to achieve quiet at any price, and not seeing the future. They want 'quiet now' and they want to appease the Waqf and everyone else - everyone except for those who are concerned for Jewish culture."

"The Antiquities Authority is responsible for preserving antiquities," says Dr. Mazar, "but it is not doing its job on the Temple Mount. The Prime Minister must take this job upon himself and make sure that the law is observed and that the Temple Mount remains an accessible cultural site not only for Moslems, but also for Jews and Christians."

Jews, What Jews, I See No Jews

Archaeologists: Govt Allows Destruction on Temple Mount

(IsraelNN.com) Israeli archaeologists are angry at the government for allowing Muslims to destroy Judaism’s holiest site, the Temple Mount. They recently sent a furious letter of condemnation to the Antiquities Authority for allowing Muslims to carry out a dig on Jerusalem's Temple Mount with tractors and other heavy equipment. The work has left a 100-meter long and 1.5 meter deep trench, seriously damaging the site.

"This is a barbaric action on the most sensitive place in archeology of the Jewish nation," said Bar-Ilan University archeologist Dr. Gabriel Barkai, a member of the Committee Against the Destruction of Antiquities on the Temple Mount. Barkai said that work carried out at the site on Monday was the most damaging to date. "If this was done with the Antiquities Authority supervision it is even worse, because the crime was carried out before our very eyes," he said.

Jewish activists note that it is common practice for Muslims to build on other people’s holy sites, replacing the original shrines with their own. Several years ago Israeli authorities allowed Muslims to build a huge underground mosque on the Mount, destroying thousands of years of Jewish history.

What kind of Jews run Israel?

How could a Jewish leader allow this to happen?

We must bring Jewish leadership into the Knesset.

Any member of Knesset that still sits in the Knesset and doesn't resign over this is nothing more than a self serving individual that cares nothing for the Jewish people and the Torah. Yes I include all the religious parties in my condemnation.

The fact that members of Knesset are not out blocking the way of the heavy equipment on the Temple Mount shows what Cowards, Scum and Traitors they all really are.

Police Cover Up

Studenia Calls For Dismissal of Border Police Commander

(IsraelNN.com) Ehud Studenia, a Samaria regional council member who is seeking to become the region’s mayor, has filed a request with Israel’s police commander to relieve Judea and Samaria Border Police Commander Shlomi Even-Paz of his position.

Studenia says the Even-Paz should be fired for stealing a memory card from the camera of a member of the Yesha Human Rights organization.

He adds that Even-Paz gave orders to use violence against protestors trying to reach Homesh in July and that he himself took the memory card from a camera that was handed to him by one of his men, with the goal of hiding the violence from watchdog groups and the media. Studenia says that Even-Paz refused to hand over the card, even once a police internal affairs investigation was launched into the incident.

The day must come for justice and prison for those police officers that have used violence against the anti Oslo and retreat policies of the government. In a democracy the police can not function as the enforcers of government policies that fail to meet the test of public support.

The level of violence that Israel has used against the anti appeasement policies has been disgusting and prison is the place for these KGB types.

Israel Once Again Importing Terrorist

Church of Nativity exiles may be granted reprieve

Militants exiled to Gaza, Europe, after 5-week takeover of famous Bethlehem church in 2002, may be allowed to return to West Bank, Palestinian sources say, citing Olmert-Abbas meeting

Palestinian militants exiled from the West Bank in 2002 - following a stand-off with the IDF in which gunmen took over the Church of the Nativity - may be allowed to return, senior sources from the Palestinian Authority said Tuesday.

According to the sources, future coordination of the issue was agreed upon during Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's meeting with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas earlier Tuesday.

Family members of the exiles and sources in the Palestinian Authority expressed hope that an agreement would soon be consolidated that would allow the militants to return to Bethlehem, as the exiles in Gaza – primarily Fatah-affiliated - have been complaining of harassment by Hamas since the group's June takeover of Gaza.

Exile Jihad Jaara told Ynet that, according to information he received from senior Palestinian officials, a solution for the exiles will be implemented beginning Ramadan, at the beginning of October.

The takeover of the church

On April 2, 2002, armed Palestinians forced their way into the church in Bethlehem, taking priests and nuns hostage, in order to escape from IDF troops in the midst of the anti-terrorist Operation Defensive Shield. The gunmen refused to surrender their positions inside the Church for over five weeks.

Under a heavily-mediated agreement to end the stand-off, 26 of the Palestinians from the Church of the Nativity were to be exiled in the Gaza Strip. Thirteen others were to be deported abroad.

According to Jaara, in the upcoming days the two sides will begin discussions regarding the return of those Palestinians who were exiled to Gaza. "The goal of the discussions is to ensure the safety of the exiles in Gaza and to ensure they won't be trailed or arrested by Israel," he said.

Following these discussions, additional meetings will take place to determine the fate of the 13 Palestinians (11 from Fatah and two from Hamas) who were deported to Europe. These 13 are considered terrorists by Israel, and the state had originally wanted to try them.

On May 10, 2002, at the conclusion of the stand-off, IDF forces entered the Church of the Nativity in order to search for weapons inside the church at the request of the priests. In addition to weapons, soldiers found 40 explosive charges that were hidden within walls and in corners of rooms. Several improvised explosives were found hidden behind closets.

I have a close friend that risk his life in the IDF response to the take over of the church by these terrorist, so this for me strikes close to home.

When are we going to get leaders that understand that Israel should never sit and talk with our enemies. For when we sit and talk we always loose.

We need to fight our enemies and talk only of achieving victory over them.

Who would have thought that Israel still needs to import terrorist?

Peres Pimps Again

'Peres barely in office – already releasing murderers'

Brother of Jewish teenager murdered 24 years ago slams newly elected president for saying he would release men convicted of brutal killing. Arab MK welcomes move, says Peres must now also release killer of Israeli girl Hanit Kikos

Roee Mendel
Published: 08.29.07, 01:51 / Israel News

"Peres hasn't even warmed the presidential seat and already he is busy releasing the vile men who murdered my brother," said Amnon Katz on Tuesday evening following President Shimon Peres'

The five are currently serving life sentences for the murder. Two of them were also convicted of murdering female Israeli soldier Daphna Carmon in 1987 and are serving longer sentences. Peres signed off on the decision along with Justice Minister Daniel Friedmann after receiving the recommendation of a statutory committee. The convicts will now be allowed to ask the parole board to reduce their sentences by a third.

Katz said the decision was capitulation to intense political pressure. "The statutory committee was appointed by the justice minister, he chose who would be on it and it seems that he had already decided what he wanted their conclusion to be.

All of the committee's work was kept quiet so that none of those who would oppose it would say anything. These are the same leftists who for years worked tirelessly to try and release these murderers through the courts; they portrayed them in the media as pitiful men and pushed for a retrial," he said.

MK el-Sana: I urged Peres to release them

The attorney representing the five men, Avigdor Feldman, welcomed Peres' decision and said he still believed his clients were innocent despite the result of the retrial. "There has never been any objective evidence in this case other than their confessions, which don't add up, said Feldman.

MK Taleb el-Sana (United Arab List – Ta'al), who in his last meeting with Peres urged him to reduce the five's sentence, also said he was pleased with the decision. El-Sana issued a statement saying that during his meeting with Peres he also asked him to pardon Suliman al-Abid, who was convicted of the rape and murder of 16-year-old teenager Hanit Kikus in 1993.

Men convicted again in 1999 retrial

Danny Katz was murdered in December 1983 after leaving his home in one of Haifa's upscale neighborhoods on his way to visit a friend. His body was found four days later in a cave near the Israeli Arab village of Sachnin. In 1985 the Haifa District Court sentenced Ahmed Kuzli, Samir Janama, Fathi Janama, Ali Janim and Aatef Sabihi of the kidnapping and murder of Katz based on their confessions.

Peres the Palestinian Pimp, proves once again that Jewish blood to him is cheap.

This case proves the need for the death penalty for terrorism if these terrorist scum were executed by the State after their first trial the Jewish people would not be placed at risk again by these terrorist scum.

So now we are going to let the murderers of three Jews go free, why?

MK Taleb el-Sana (United Arab List – Ta'al) shows once again that we can't trust a single Arab member of Knesset to put the general good of the Jewish people ahead of their desire to destroy Israel. It is time to be honest and look at the Arab members of Knesset and admit that they are marching in lock step with Hamas and Fatah.

Before any body jumps on the racist band wagon, I have no problem with Arabs being in the Knesset to represent their communities I just wish that they could be on the same page when it comes to Israels security and future.

Religious soldiers: Officer violated prayer rights
By MATTHEW WAGNER

Religious "hesder" soldiers on basic training in an IDF Intelligence platoon complained Sunday that a low-ranking officer abused them on religious grounds and violated their right to pray.

Religious soldiers praying.
Photo: Ariel Jerozolimski

The officer, according to the soldiers, used coercive methods on Sunday to force them to finish their afternoon prayer quickly. They said he split the platoon into two groups. One group was permitted to pray; the other group was forced to do pushups while their comrades prayed.

The officer used this as a tactic for shortening the prayer time, since the soldiers who were allowed to pray did not want to prolong the period during which their comrades did pushups.

The platoon is made up of religious soldiers from two different hesder yeshivot: Har Bracha and Ra'anana.

Rabbi David Stav, spokesman for the Union of Hesder Yeshivot, said the incident was proof that there are elements in the IDF who are hostile to religious soldiers.

"Somebody has a load of antipathy that he has decided to bring down on the hesder soldiers," he said.

The IDF, in a statement, said that it has launched an initial investigation, which indicated that the officer had acted in violation of IDF rules. The statement said that those responsible for the incident would be punished.

This officer needs to be punished with jail time as an example to others so that this type of harassment doesn't happen again.

It is hard enough for religious soldiers to stay religious as they watch other soldiers violate Shabbat and relax while they pray 3 times a day.

Before He Was The Palestinian Pimp

www.jerusalemsummit.org/eng/peres/peres_eng.htm

The following is a chillingly accurate prediction made three decades ago, by
none other than Shimon Peres, the nation's newly elected president. In it he
foresaw, in precise detail, the dire perils that would result if Israel were
to embark on precisely the policy he himself championed and which continues
to advocate with passion:

"The establishment of such a [Palestinian] state means the inflow of
combat-ready Palestinian forces (more than 25,800 men under arms) into Judea
and Samaria; this force, together with the local youth, will double itself
in a short time. It will not be short of weapons or other [military]
equipment, and in a short space of time, an infrastructure for waging war
will be set up in Judea, Samaria and the Gaza Strip. Israel will have
problems in preserving day-to-day security, which may drive the country into
war, or undermine the morale of its citizens. In time of war, the frontiers
of the Palestinian state will constitute an excellent staging point for
mobile forces to mount attacks on infrastructure installations vital for
Israel's existence, to impede the freedom of action of the Israeli air-force
in the skies over Israel, and to cause bloodshed among the population. in
areas adjacent to the frontier-line."
Shimon Peres, Tomorrow is Now,
Jerusalem: Keter, 1978, p. 232,

Wow President Shimon Peres was once normal.

To bad to day he spends his time pimping for the Palestinians collecting monies from around the world which then goes into his bank accounts in the Cayman Islands.

Did he choose the Caymans so nobody can know how much cash goes into the account and how much goes out?

Olmert to Sderot Moms: Send Kids to Unprotected Schools

Olmert to Sderot Moms: Send Kids to Unprotected Schools

(IsraelNN.com) In spite of the lack of shielding from Kassam rockets, Prime Minster Ehud Olmert has asked Sderot parents to send their children to school at the beginning of the new school year next week. The Sderot Parents Association has threatened to keep their children home until proper protection is in place. Speaking at the “Education City” convention in Holon on Monday Olmert said “Don’t deprive your children of this experience, with all the dangers you face.”

In spite of government promises, the majority of Sderot schools still lack protection from Kassam rockets fired from Gaza. Just last week a Kassam exploded in an empty schoolyard.

Very easy for Olmert to ask the parents of Sderot to put their children at risk. Why can he ask others to risk their children when his own kids have never been at risk. Olmert should end the security risk to Sderot by hitting the terrorist of Gaza day in and day out.

Half of IDF's New Combat Officers are Religious

Published: 08/26/07, 8:43 PM Half of IDF's New Combat Officers are Religious by Gil Ronen

(IsraelNN.com) Half of the IDF's young combat officers are religious Jews, according to statistics published as the lead story Sunday in Ma'ariv, Israel's second largest daily newspaper. The report also says that about 40% of the cadets of the most recent Officer Course in BAHAD 1, the IDF's officer training school, were religious (this number refers to all officers, as opposed to just combat officers).

"This says something very good about the sons of the religious Zionist movement," opines the writer of the piece, senior correspondent Ben Caspit. "They are becoming the IDF's backbone. Their presence in the army is several times larger than it is in the general population."

"They give their entire soul"
"Any way we look at it," he says, "it's about education." It is clear, he states, that "the religious Zionist movement's educational institutions continue to disseminate values, Zionism, Judaism and mission orientation. The religious youth is mission-oriented. [It sets out to] conquer the hilltops. Then to conquer the military service and the officership."

The entry of the religious Zionists into the officer corps began after the Yom Kippur War, says Caspit, when Major Generals Yair Naveh and El'azar Stern entered service. "It continues with the pre-military academies, which send a sizeable percentage of their graduates to the Officers' Course." The "Hesder" yeshivas, he says – t
"They do everything willingly, with their entire soul," Caspit says of the religious Zionist soldiers.
he seminaries that combine religious study with a shortened army service – do not contribute many officers.

"They do everything willingly, with their entire soul," Caspit says of the religious Zionist soldiers. Alongside them one finds, he claims, many youths from the socialist-agricultural moshav and kibbutz movements, as well as soldiers from new-immigrant and lower-income families who see the military as a chance for upward social mobility.

However, what Caspit refers to as "the First Israel" - the middle and upper classes - is no longer very visible among the officers. More and more of its sons either actively evade service, or opt for what he calls "a gray evasion" – the employment of various tricks to serve less time, serve closer to home, and without endangering themselves. "They find all the ways in the world to fool the system, to see the IDF as some foreign element which is meant to curtail their personal advancement, independent thought, private ambition and other legitimate aspirations of 21st century man."

Caspit sees this trend as a worrying one and calls for urgent action to raise the motivation of non-religious Israelis to serve and excel. He does not specify what this action might be.

Socio-political ramifications
Religious Zionists have often noted, in the course of political debates, that their youth plays a disproportionate role in the IDF, but secular Israelis have usually denied this. The article by Caspit, who is one of Israel's top journalists and the author of several books, including biographies of Binyamin Netanyahu and Ehud Barak, can be seen as admission by a secular Israeli that the religious Zionists have been right on this subject.

The statistics are important for Israeli society because the IDF is seen as the nation's backbone and its pride. Since the State of Israel was founded it has had five native-born Prime Ministers, four of whom were from the military: Yitzchak Rabin, Netanyahu, Barak and Ariel Sharon. Rabin and Barak both served as IDF Chiefs of Staff, Sharon was a Major General and Netanyahu had been an officer in an elite unit that was commanded by his brother, Yoni, a military hero who was killed in the rescue of passengers from a hijacked Air France jet in Uganda in 1976. Thus, traditionally, service as combat officers goes hand in hand with leadership potential.

Another reason these statistics are significant is that many religious soldiers have been refusing orders to evict Jews from their homes in Judea, Samaria and Gaza. If half of the IDF's new officers are religious, this means that the refusal movement could indeed have a deep deterrent impact on the IDF and government when and if it decides to attempt additional pullouts from territory, as the movement's leaders claim.

If we fail to achieve the victory that we must have over the enemies of the Jewish people, both those enemies in the Knesset and Supreme Court as well as our Arab enemies, these lads are our hope. These young officers have been hardened by gowning up with the intifada, suicide bombings, class mates being kidnapped and murdered are their reality.

I feel confident in their future leadership.

'Hamas planning mega-terror attack in Israel'

Deputy Shin Bet chief tells cabinet Palestinian organization instructed by headquarters abroad to carry out mass casualty attack ; says arms smuggling, shootings and rocket attacks have increased

Ronny Sofer
Published: 08.26.07, 18:05 / Israel News

Hamas may carry out a mega-terror attack, the Deputy Shin Bet Chief, known only as Y, told cabinet members Sunday. "There were clear orders from the Hamas headquarters abroad to Hamas here to carry out a mass casualty attack in Israel," he said.

According to Y, the Hamas leadership in Gaza is experiencing "deep strategic complications." The organization is frustrated by its lack of success in gaining legitimacy in the international arena, particularly in Europe.

They are also having trouble running the government, particularly in controlling internal checkpoints and, in general, in positively impacting daily life.

This situation increases the likelihood that the organization's policy regarding terror attacks with change, in Gaza, the West Bank and possibly even outside of Israel, the deputy Shin Bet chief said.

Increased smuggling and use of weapons

Arms smuggling has not only continued, it has increased, Y reported. In the few months since Hamas' took over Gaza in June of this year, 40 tons of weapons have been smuggled into the Strip – approximately one half of the total amount of armaments smuggled into the area since Israel's July 2005 disengagement.

Since August, the defense establishment recorded five major incidents of arms smuggling through Egypt, during which 13 tons of explosives and 150 RPG (rocket-propelled grenade) carriers were brought in. Simultaneously, there has been an observable decrease in Egypt's measures to combat the trend.

Not surprisingly, the deputy chief stated that armed attacks against Israeli communities and forces had increase. There were 20 Qassam attacks last week, a high number relative to the average of 70 rockets per month.

The number of shooting attacks from Gaza (gun or mortar fire towards the border fence or into Israel) also increased in the past week – up to 56, in comparison to 43 attacks the week before. The heightened mortar fire, specifically, was a response to the IDF's operations within Gaza, Y explained.

We must remember the retreat from Gaza is what has allowed this situation to happen. If we think it is bad today and we work to prevent a mega attack out of Gaza just think what it will be like if G-D forbid we retreat from Judea and Samaria.

Update on MERF For Today

As of now it looks like due to communication problems, I may be the only guest for the full hour on MERF.

Traitor Should Pay The Price

Aug 24, 2007 22:49 | Updated Aug 24, 2007 22:49 Former Arab MK Bishara praises Hizbullah

A former Arab MK accused of spying for Hizbullah during the Second Lebanon War last summer praised the guerrilla group Friday, saying it is now stronger than ever.

Azmi Bishara, a once prominent Arab Knesset leader who has been on the run since June, made the comments during a tour of south Lebanon border villages, where he visited the graves of Lebanese war victims and met with their families.

"Everybody envies the Lebanese for their resistance (Hizbullah) and its leadership, but I envy the resistance for its people," said Bishara, according to comments carried by the state-run National News Agency.

Bishara also condemned Israeli attacks against Lebanese civilians during the fighting last year.

"The massacres that were carried out by Israel were not a coincidence but were a strategic policy to frighten people," he said.

He praised Hizbullah for its performance during the 34-day war last summer, which was triggered by Hezbollah's capture of two Israeli soldiers in a cross border guerrilla raid.

"I am convinced that Israel has become incapable of attacking Lebanon again, and that is a very big achievement for the resistance," he said.

"Hizbullah has rearmed itself in the last year and perhaps is now stronger than ever," he added, according to the NNA. He did not elaborate.

Bishara left Israel in early June after being grilled twice by investigators and later resigned his Parliament seat. Police said he would be arrested immediately if he returns to Israel on charges of espionage for Hizbullah.

Both he and Hizbullah have denied the accusations. He has said he is a victim of political persecution.

Bishara has antagonized many Jewish Israelis over the years by meeting with some of Israel's bitterest enemies, including the leaders of Syria and Hizbullah. A Christian from the town of Nazareth who joined parliament in 1996, he frequently speaks out in favor of Palestinian rights.

The Israel of old would remove this traitor, by gun, bomb or traffic accident it would matter, he would have paid for his treason.

He should pay today for his treason.

4 Palestinians killed in Gaza, West Bank clashes with IDF

Security forces come under fire from Palestinian gunmen during seperate operations in Gaza, West Bank. Ensuing gunbattles leave 4 Palestinians dead, mostly gunmen. Officials say 11-year-old boy among those killed

Efrat Weiss
Latest Update: 08.24.07, 21:13 / Israel News

Four Palestinians were killed Friday by Israeli forces after gunmen opened fire at troops operating in the West Bank and outside Gaza. Among those killed is an 11-year-old boy, a relative of a wanted Islamic Jihad member who was apparently caught in the crossfire.

In the village of Seida northeast of Tulkarm a special joint IDF, Border Police and Shin-Bet force conducting an arrest operation came under fire from Palestinian gunmen as they approached the home of a wanted man and a gunbattle ensued.

Palestinians said one of those killed is an 11-year-old boy. The army confirmed it had killed a wanted Islamic Jihad gunman but said it did not know the identity of the second fatality. A second wanted gunman was seriously wounded and evacuated to an Israeli hospital for treatment.

One Border Police officer was lightly wounded from shrapnel and recieved medical treatment at the scene.

Troops also uncovered two AK-47 assault rifles and ammunition at the scene.

Palestinian media reported the boy's name as Mahmoud Ibrahim Karnawi and said he was the half-brother of Sadiq Mahmoud Odi, the wanted gunman who was wounded by the IDF.

Neighbors said the boy was inside the home at the time of the shooting and hit in the crossfire. Relatives said the boy lived in Israel with his parents - a divorced Palestinian woman who remarried an Arab Israeli. The family was visiting relatives in the West Bank at the time of the shooting, the relatives said.

Gaza: Soldiers thwart attack on patrol

Also Friday evening an IDF force patrolling the security fence between Israel and the Gaza Strip came under fire from two armed Palestinians, just north of the Karni crossing.

The troops then crossed some 330 feet into Gaza and killed the gunmen after a short exchange of fire. No IDF casualties were reported. The soldiers recovered AK-47 assault rifles from the gunmen's bodies.

Officials within the Gaza battalion said the gunmen had apparently been waiting for an IDF patrol to pass by in order to attack it.

A Call For Action

Israel: West Bank-Gaza safe passage can be part of territorial exchange By Akiva Eldar

Israel has proposed that safe passage for the Palestinians from the West Bank to the Gaza Strip be included in an exchange of territory with the Palestinians in the framework of the agreement of principles now being formulated ahead of the upcoming regional summit.

The Palestinians will receive control of the route, but Israel will maintain sovereignty and it will only begin to operate after the Palestinian Authority, under its present leadership, reasserts control over the Gaza Strip.

Jerusalem believes that the move will help PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas and Prime Minister Salam Fayad garner public support in Gaza, which will see the Hamas government as an obstacle in renewing communication with the West Bank.

A senior official involved in talks with the Palestinians said that the agreement of principles will not set out the details of the land to be transfered to the Palestinians in exchange for Israel's settlement blocs, but will reflect as wide as possible a consensus on the core issues with some ambiguity. The details will be hammered out in negotiations after the summit.

It is believed that for the Palestinians, safe passage is worth more than its nominal territory, and therefore this will be a central component in a territorial package.

Sources close to Abbas say the PA chairman has removed his objection to the establishment of a state with temporary borders following the signing of the agreement of principles, but has conditioned his agreement on international assurances of a timetable for the end of negotiations on permanent borders.

Internal discussions in Israel along with talks with the Palestinians are formulating the following positions:

Borders -- The starting point is the separation fence, without additional areas slated for the expansion of settlements. This leaves 92 percent of the area of the West Bank in Palestinian hands. The final area of the new state will be larger than the area east of the fence, but smaller than the area proposed in the Geneva Accord.

Among themselves, Israeli officials talk about the need to begin applying the principles of the Evacuation-Compensation Law on West Bank settlers. Two bills have recently been proposed on this issue, one by Colette Avital (Labor) and Avshalom Vilan (Meretz), and the other by Amir Peretz and Yuli Tamir (Labor).

Jerusalem -- According to a government official, Israel would be willing to transfer to the Palestinians at an early stage a number of neighborhoods and refugee camps outside the fence and in the area of the Seam Line. At a later stage, it would transfer more or most of the Arab neighborhoods.

The guiding principle is similar to that of the Clinton Plan: Jewish areas for Jews and Arab areas for Arabs. The "basin" of sacred sites in the Old City would be administered jointly by representatives of the three religions, each responsible for its own sites.

Refugees -- Israel would recognize Palestinian refugee suffering and accept indirectly some responsibility for the refugees from the 1948 war. Israel would also take part in an international project to rehabilitate refugees in Palestine, in areas Israel would transfer to the Palestinians and in the countries where they are now living.

Israel is basing itself on the clause in the Arab peace plan noting that a solution to the refugee problem is predicated on Israel's consent.

While the U.S. did not plan the agenda of the summit ahead of time, it sees the agreement of principles as key to the summit's success and is encouraging the parties to move ahead on it before the summit. The Americans believe the agreement greatly improves the chances that Saudi Arabia will take part in the summit, and will back Abbas and Fayad politically and economically. To connect the regional summit to the Saudi and Arab initiatives, the Saudis and the Palestinians want the summit to relate to the Israel-Syrian issue as well.

Nothing matters to the rulers of Israel, they are bent on leading Israel into national suicide.

They refuse to learn the lesson of the Gaza retreat.

They now are offering safe passage for terrorist from Gaza to Judea and Samaria (west bank), in spite of the fact that the IDF has gone on record that the Palestinians have now smuggled into Gaza very sophisticated weapon systems. This safe passage will be used to transfer these weapons from Gaza to Judea and Samaria. This will place the whole of Israel at risk. Why do you think our leaders want to build a new airport on a man made island in the sea, to place it out of range of these weapons that will enter Judea and Samaria. The current airport Ben Gurion will be an easy target if our leaders sell Israel out.

Bills are being offered in the Knesset that will lead to removing Jews from their homes.

If the government attempts to remove Jews from their homes we need to bring the government to its knees. Every government employee that supports the Jewish people should go out on strike, soldiers must refuse orders.

Tens of thousands of people should not demonstrate in Jerusalem as they have done so in the past to no avail. They need to enter the run ways of Ben Gurion airport and shut the airport down. Every Jew who loves Israel must take part in this struggle we must close the country down for weeks and maybe even months.

This battle must not be a battle of settlers only, against the government but all Jews must answer the call to arms.

Arab refugees from 1948, we must remember they left Israel at the request of Arab leaders so that their armies could wipe out the Jews.

What do we owe these people ?

Nothing!

The refuges that Israel owes are the Jewish refuges from the Arab countries many of whom are still stuck in a cycle of poverty, poor schools with little hope for the future.

Israel owes only the Jewish refugees .

If it is America that is pushing Israel towards such suicidal policies Israel must cut ties with America. We must break the contracts that the Israel Military Industry has with the U.S. Military for munitions and produce what we need for our own use in the war with Syria in the fall.

Let America go and see who survives, it will be Israel and the Jewish people.

G-D help us and save us from the Cowards, Scum and Traitors that seek to destroy the Jewish people.

IDF to import Gaza produce on 'shmita

IDF to import Gaza produce on 'shmita' Yaakov Katz, THE JERUSALEM POST Aug. 20, 2007 www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?cid=1187502418898&pagename=JPost%2FJPArticle%2FShowFull

The IDF intends to import produce from the Gaza Strip on a trial basis ahead
of the upcoming shmita (sabbatical) year, when Jewish farmers are forbidden
by Halacha to harvest the land.

Since Hamas's takeover of the Gaza Strip in June and the closure of the
Karni crossing, the IDF has refrained from importing Palestinian goods into
Israel. In past shmita years, Israel relied heavily on produce grown in
Palestinian territory.

According to Halacha, all produce grown in Israel on Jewish-owned land
during the shmita year, which starts on Rosh Hashana, is forbidden for
consumption.

"We plan to conduct a few test runs to see if we can find the right
mechanism that will work during shmita," a high-ranking defense official
said Sunday. "We do not deal with Hamas and talk strictly with local
Palestinian farmers and merchants."

Col. Nir Press, head of the Gaza Liaison Administration, is responsible for
arranging the importing of the produce. Due to Israel's policy of not
talking to Hamas officials, Press is coordinating the transfer of the goods
with Fatah officials in Ramallah who are in charge of the Gaza crossings on
behalf of the Palestinian Authority.

Press is in touch with Palestinian merchants and farmers inside Gaza who can
help him coordinate the transfer of produce into Israel during the shmita
year.
The IDF is also involved in setting up a similar mechanism in the West Bank,
particularly in the Jordan Valley. OC Jordan Valley Brigade Col. Yigal
Slovik has held meetings with religious officials to coordinate the transfer
of produce from Palestinian-owned lands near Jericho to Jewish merchants.

Religious authorities have asked Slovik to deploy soldiers in the fields on
the days of the harvest to protect kashrut supervisors who will be there to
ensure that the produce belonged to non-Jews. They want to ensure that
Jewish farmers can't ship their own produce into an Arab village and claim
it was grown on Arab-owned land.

Merkava Tank Exports Expected to Reach $400 Million

Merkava Tank Exports Expected to Reach $400 Million

(IsraelNN.com) Exports of Israel’s advanced Merkava tank are expected to reach some $400 million by 2008, according to the Association of Metal and Electronics Industries. This year Merkava tank sales rose 13% to $350 million. The IDF itself is continuously buying the Merkava as part of its plan to replace about 2-3% of its tanks per year with the new Merkava 4, in order to provide superior protection to tank crews. But the Association says the IDF and government’s indecision about the future of the Merkava is causing damage to Merkava’s exports. Some 220 factories are involved in the manufacture of the Israeli made tank, employing some 10,000 workers.

Anti-Israel School Causes Controversy in NYC

Anti-Israel School Causes Controversy in NYC

(IsraelNN.com) A new Arab language school with an anti-Israel message has caused an uproar in New York City. Supporters have depicted the school as pro-peace, but administrators admit that the Arab terror campaign which has claimed almost 2000 Jewish lives, known in Arabic as the “Intifada”, will be taught positively at the school. "It will not, as suggested, be a hope for peace. It is a blueprint for anti-Israel and anti-U.S. extremism," said State Assemblyman Dov Hikind, adding that the school has been endorsed by radical groups.

Never Give Up Land

IDF Sources Confirm Hamas Boast of Weaponry

(IsraelNN.com) IDF sources have stated that Hamas did not make an empty boast when it warned it has weapons far more dangerous than the Kassam rocket. Intelligence officials have warned the government ever since the expulsion of Jewish residents from the Gush Katif area and the withdrawal of the IDF two years ago that Hamas has smuggled from Egypt a large arsenal of weapons.

Hamas has dug dozens of tunnels, many of which are in the direction of Israel and enable terrorists to stage guerilla raids on IDF positions and moshavim and kibbutzim near Gaza. Hamas possesses Soviet-made Grad missile, which has a range of approximately 14 miles, within easy reach of Ashkelon, sources said.

So why can't Israeli politician learn this valuable lesson, never give up land.

You win a war by taking and seizing land denying your enemy the use of the land that you have seized.

Israel should never give up any more land, if the leadership can learn this lesson from the Gaza retreat then maybe some good could come out of that evil mistake.

Hamas: Israel should be ready for strike's effects

Spokesman for group's military wing says 'Zionist enemy will shoulder consequences of crime', says they have 'more dangerous weapons than rockets'

Associated Press

After six Hamas operatives were killed in an IDF airstrike Monday afternoon, the organization identified them as members of its military wing and implied that they would seek revenge. A spokesman for the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades described Israel's action as an "ugly Zionist massacre" and said "all options were open" for a response.

"The Zionist enemy (Israel) is playing with fire and they will have to shoulder the responsibility for the consequences of this crime," Izz al-Din al-Qassam spokesman Abu Ubaida said.

The vehicle, which Hamas said was hit as it arrived at a Hamas security post near the al-Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza, contained local Hamas commander Mohammed abu Arab.

According to an IDF spokeswoman, the operatives were members of a cell that had launched an attack towards Gaza vicinity communities earlier Monday. "There was a strike on a car carrying militants who today fired rockets into Israel and we identified hitting it," she said.

As such, the airstrike was part of continuing operations by the IDF's Gaza Division to combat rocket launchings from the Strip. An Israeli army spokesman said over 40 makeshift rockets had been fired into Israel from the Gaza Strip since Friday.

Israeli Supreme Court Comes to Aid of Mosques

Israeli Supreme Court Comes to Aid of Mosques

(IsraelNN.com) The Israeli Supreme Court has given the state 45 days to answer a petition which claims Israel does not protect Muslim "holy places" and demands official guidelines for such be set. The petition was first made in November 2004 by the Adbala Arab rights group and Muslim activists. The state says no guidelines are needed as it has already expressed willingness to allocate over 2 million shekels for this purpose.

My question is just who do these mosques need protecting from?

How many suicide bombers have been Jewish?

None!

How many attacks have their been against Arab worship services in the last 5 years?

None!

Jews need to be protected from the Supreme Court in Israel which is a den of pro Arab self hating Jews.

Another Corruption Scandal Rocks Israeli Police

Another Corruption Scandal Rocks Israeli Police

(IsraelNN.com) The Deputy Commander of the Police Investigations Department, Asher Ben-Artzi, is suspected of using his professional ties with the American Consulate to assist Israeli criminal groups gain visas to the US. He is also suspected of receiving bribes.

Ben-Artzi, who serves as the Head of the Israel Police Interpol and Foreign Liaison Section, is to take leave while corruption allegations against him are examined.

The latest revelations are but one more in a long string of scandals to rock the Israeli Police force. Former Israeli Police Chief, Moshe Karadi, was forced to resign last year following revelations he allowed a police commander suspected of underworld ties to be promoted.

The police in Israel will never succeed in cleaning up their own house when the Knesset is full of corrupt individuals. We must bring about a change of attitude by voting into office people that understand the concept of public servant and seek to serve the people rather than line their pockets.

“Israel Treats Muslims Better than India”

“Israel Treats Muslims Better than India”

(IsraelNN.com) On his first visit to Israel, Maulana Jameel Ahmed Ilyasi, secretary-general of the All-India Association of Imams and Mosques, representing India's 200 million Muslims said that, in some ways, Israel treats Muslims better than India. "I was pleasantly surprised to know that the Sharia (Islamic law) is being supported by the Israeli government, whereas in India only local Muslims implement it. That is unique," he said. "The Jews I have met here say that we are all children of Abraham, part of the same family. This is something I didn't hear in India. The Muslims in India should come and see things for themselves," Ilaysi said.

Ilyasi said his visit had overturned many preconceptions. "My initial impression was that the Israelis are certainly dominating Muslims out here. Once I came here, that impression completely changed," Ilaysi said. "I saw the reality on the ground, the mutual respect Israeli Arabs and Israeli Jews have for each other. Constant conflict is not the reality here." In Jerusalem "I saw that Muslims, Christians and Jews lived side by side happily, not at each other's throat."

“The time for violence has come to an end, and the era of peace and dialogue between Muslims and Jews has begun,” said Ilyasi. He also said it was time for Pakistan to establish official relations with Israel.

Hit an Arab, Get Fired – Hit a Jew, Get Promoted

Hit an Arab, Get Fired – Hit a Jew, Get Promoted

(IsraelNN.com) A policewoman filmed hitting an Arab at an IDF checkpoint last week was immediately suspended, a police spokesman said Sunday. The move has engendered disbelief amongst Jewish rights activists who have been trying for over a year and a half to suspend dozens of Israeli policemen filmed beating Jewish youths at the destruction of the Jewish town of Amona. Israeli Police Maj.-Gen. Mickey Levy, who was filmed beating Land of Israel activist Nadia Matar, was promoted in February to serve as next Deputy Commissioner of the Israeli Police Force.

The day must come where those police officers that have assaulted Jews will be made to pay a price for their actions. But as long as members of the police function as an extension of the anti Jewish policies of the left their will never be a day of accountability.

IDF Back to Basics

IDF Back to Basics after Halutz's High-Tech Program

(IsraelNN.com) IDF soldiers are being trained for traditional battles after years of neglect, United Press International (UPI) reported. Former IDF Chief of Staff Dan Halutz, who took office two years ago, said at the time he would revolutionize the army with high-tech defense measures that would reduce the need for the traditional foot soldiers.

However, the success of Hizbullah terrorists against the army in the Second Lebanon War has convinced IDF Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi to emphasize basic training instead of planning only for an advanced missile war.

Yossi Peled, a retired former Northern Commander, said that the results of the war last year have convinced Syria it can successfully fight Israel. "Even if they are wrong, ...their attitude means we may be on the way to another war,” he warned.

This is great news and even if we are forced to fight a war this fall with Syria this back to basics training will save lives and assure Israel of victory.

IDF 2 - Palestinians 0

Two Palestinians were shot and killed on Friday during one of two gunfights which had ensued between IDF troops and Palestinian gunmen near the West Bank city of Jenin, local residents and doctors said.

The first exchange of fire broke out after soldiers entered the village of Kafr Dan, the residents said. Two Palestinians were killed; an Islamic Jihad gunman and one a civilian, doctors said. Several others were wounded.

The army said troops operating in the village against terror infrastructure identified a group of gunmen and shot toward them, hitting them.

Later Friday night, Palestinians opened fire at an IDF jeep in Kabatiya.

Meanwhile, at a checkpoint south of Nablus an explosive device was thrown at soldiers.

No casualties were reported in either incident.

If we were keeping score today we came out ahead, keep up the good work lads.

I Don't Get It

UNRWA calls on PA to stop threats against their employees

Jerusalem - Ma'an - UNRWA has on Friday called for the intervention of the
Palestinian Authority to prevent its employees being repeatedly subject to
threats.

A number of UNRWA employees were detained for several hours in Nablus on
Thursday.

In a statement received by Ma'an, UNRWA demanded that the Palestinian
Authority intervene immediately to stop those who are attempting to drag
UNRWA into the ongoing Palestinian internal conflict.

UNRWA made clear that threats and harassment are hindering their ability to
carry out their humanitarian assistance in the Palestinian Territories.
Exposing the UNRWA staff to danger limits their ability to continue working,
the statement added.

I just don't get it the Palestinians keep doing things that are not in their best interest and the world still supports them.

It should be the same as support for the neo Nazi, white bigots , today if you are a Klan member or a neo Nazi you are beyond the pale. The same should hold true for the support of the Palestinians. But still they have support of the UN and the Europians and lets not forget President Bush and Condi.

UNRWA should just pack up and go back to where ever they came from instead of begging the Palestinians to act like normal people.

Palestinians gunmen on Friday evening fired three Qassam rockets and 12 mortar shells from the northern Gaza Strip toward southern Israel. The al-Quds Brigades, the Islamic Jihad's military wing, claimed responsibility for the rocket fire.

Two Qassam rockets were fired at the western Negev at around 6 pm. One rocket landed near Sderot. Another rocket hit a kibbutz south of Asheklon. A third rocket launched several minutes later landed near a community in the Sha'ar Hanegev Regional Council.

The third rocket landed near a reunion event of a paratroopers company from August 1962, which was attended by Deputy Defense Minister Matan Vilna'i, one of the company's squad commanders.

Polish MEPs boycott UN conference

Polish MEPs boycott UN conference

Published: 08.16.07, 20:49 / Israel News

A conference of UN NGOs (non-governmental organizations) on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, to be hosted at the European Parliament this month, will be boycotted by Polish Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) from across the political spectrum, who say that the conference is biased against Israel.

Knesset Speaker Dalia Itzik, has written to the President of the European Parliament, Hans-Gert Poettering, asking him to cancel the European Parliament's decision to host the conference, while the Jerusalem-based NGO Monitor organization said the upcoming conference as a rehash of the 2001 UN Durban conference on racism, which saw unprecedented levels of anti-Zionist rhetoric, and calls for Israel's destruction.

"I will not take part in this conference. I saw the materials prepared by the organizers," Bronisław Geremek, a Polish MEP, was quoted by Polish website, Europa21 as saying.

"Although there is no official statement that Israel must be pushed down to the sea there, the choice of subjects and the attitude towards the problems shows that it will be a biased, conflict generating conference. Actually we can call it anti-Israeli," he said.

'Israelis can count on Poles'
"There is not the first such initiative. (The) Pro-Palestinian lobby is very active here. If in fact, the conference will become propagandist, Israelis can count on Poles," Boguslaw Sonik, another Polish MEP, said.

Konrad Szymanski, a third MEP, said: "Israel's objections are fully justified. (The) UN Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People is a platform for activity of various extremists. According to the most of them Israel should disappear."

"I am astonished that European Parliament allowed such activity to be placed in its building. If there is any activity against the conference, i.e. a petition signed by MEPs, I will be very glad to support it," Szymanski added.

Good for the Poles, for speaking out against this Israel bashing hate fest. It is too bad the rest of Europe can't do the same. This is just one more example of why Israel must do what we must do when it comes to our security. For no matter what we do the Euro trash will condemn Israel.

Hague Ready to Host Hariri Tribunal

Hague Ready to Host Hariri Tribunal

(IsraelNN.com) Dutch Foreign Minister Maxime Verhagen told Dutch public radio Thursday that the Netherlands plans to convene the international court to try suspects in the murder of Lebanese ex-premier Rafiq Hariri. The Syrian government is suspected of being behind the murder.

The United Nations Secretary General wrote to Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende last month asking the Netherlands to host the Hariri tribunal. Balkenende says he will send UN chief Ban Ki-moon his positive response "very soon," Verhagen said

Hariri, an opponent of the Syrian occupation of Lebanon, was killed along with 22 other people in a massive truck bombing in Beirut in February 2005.

Israeli leaders are worried Syria might start a war with Israel in order to prevent the trial from taking place.

As stated in the article this may well be the trigger for a war between Syria and Israel. This is an old Arab method to divert world attention from their evil, like last summers war with Hizbullah. The war was timed to keep the G8 from discussing Iran's nuclear program.

You just have to wonder how long the world will keep falling for the same old thing.

NIS 1.2 mil to go to Katsav's security

Following Shin Bet's request, Knesset Finance Committee approves security budget for former president without objections. In the meantime, Katsav's family rejects relinquishing office funding

Former President of Israel Moshe Katsav, who resigned from his position after taking a plea bargain for sexual assault charges, will receive a special budget of NIS 1.2 million (about $283,000) to fund his security expenses, the

The budget was proposed by Budget Director Kobi Haber in accordance with the government's decision and was approved without objections, since it is not part of Katsav's retirement benefits, but came at the instructions of the Shin Bet.

In the meantime, Katsav's family rejected committee head MK Stas Misezhnikov's proposal that the former president give up of his own accord the funding for his office, in the amount of NIS 750,000 by the end of 2007.

Misezhnikov postponed the hearing on this matter pending the Finance Committee's decision to revoke benefits of former presidents or prime ministers convicted of crimes that carry moral turpitude.

Misezhnikov suggested to Katsav's brother Lior that the eighth president relinquish his office, since this would be the most worthy move following the storm around his affair and would also give the former president a dignified way out.

Katsav's brother responded that this offer was unacceptable. In the meantime, Katsav plans to open an office in Tel Aviv, where he will be assisted by two aides.

Olmert's motorcade runs over 10-year-old girl

Efrat Weiss
Published: 08.16.07, 23:04 / Israel News

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's motorcade ran over a 10-year-old girl crossing the street near the entrance to Jerusalem on Thursday evening.

The girl was lightly wounded and evacuated to the Hadassah Ein Karem hospital for treatment. Olmert's office expressed their sorrow over the incident and wished the girl a speedy recovery.

An initial probe into the incident conducted by the police indicates that the convoy was driving with its lights and sirens on. The traffic light changed to red as the motorcade was still making its way across while the girl began crossing the street after the crosswalk light turned green.

The car accompanying the motorcade which hit the girl remained at the scene while the rest of the convoy continued. The investigation into the incident will continue.

Avraham Scheinberger, a ZAKA volunteer who was driving nearby said he noticed people assembled on the street and approached the crowd with his motorcycle. "There were a lot of motorcade cars there. I came up close with my motorcycle and began treating to the girl, who had been hit by a motorcade jeep.

"The girl sustained a blow to her head after being thrown more than six feet. She was crossing the street at a crosswalk with her sister after the light turned green. The girl was fully conscious and calling for her father. We set her neck and a minute later an ambulance arrived and took her to a hospital for treatment."

Olmert's office said the prime minister was only informed of the incident sometime later, the car that
struck the girl had been traveling behind his. The prime minister's personal paramedic was said to be in the car that hit the girl and he immediately began administering aid until the emergency medical services arrived.

What does 2 million NIS and the Prime Ministers motorcade hitting a 10 year old girl have in common?

Both involve the Shaback (Shin Bet), and career politicians.

Both incidents show a disconnect of both from reality, Katsav if he was a man of honor would turn down both the funding for an office and security.

In the incident of the motorcade running over this little girl, their is an arrogance in the way the Shaback responded.
To have the motorcade speed off leaving only the one vehicle behind shows they really don't care about the people. Many will think what about the security risk, it could have been an ambush.

The motorcade could have stopped, kept Olmert in his bullet proof limo a until they determined it was not an ambush and then a Prime Minster who really cared about the people could have gotten out and checked on the welfare of the little girl.

The power elite have lost their connection to the people and think they are above the mundane of every day life.

The IDF on Tuesday uncovered an underground tunnel leading from the Gaza Strip towards Israel, the army said Wednesday. The tunnel shaft was connected to a Gaza hothouse used to grow tomatoes and situated 700 meters from the border fence.

The tunnel was detonated in a controlled manner by the IDF on Wednesday evening.

Army officials believe that a terror attack had been foiled by uncovering the tunnel. According to estimates, Palestinians planned to use the tunnel in order to smuggle explosives and bomb them under an Israeli military or civilian target.

The IDF was also looking into the possibility that the tunnel was slated to be used to smuggle terrorists into Israel.

The tunnel was uncovered after the army received military intelligence. A generator which had apparently been used to assist in the dig was also found in the area.

Southern Command officials estimated that terror organizations continue to dig different tunnels from the Gaza Strip toward Israel, using technological means.

"It is possible such tunnels are already ready and that terror activists are waiting to receive an order to use them. We must not forget that (IDF soldiers) Gilad Shalit was kidnapped by terrorists who entered Israel through a tunnel.

"The uncovering of the tunnel in the northern Strip illustrates just how important the military activity near the fence in recent months is and how significant it is in thwarting terror attacks," army officials said.

Military sources in the Southern Command said after the tunnel was uncovered that "every operation in the Palestinian territory has added value. We get to know the area better, we question people, we collect information, and this eventually leads to operational achievements."

The sources stressed that the activity taking place across the Gaza Strip was not aimed at preventing Hamas from becoming stronger, but rather at foiling planned terror attacks.

Military officials admitted that the uncovering of the tunnel was not surprising and that additional tunnels may be waiting in the area, some of them hidden under buildings, hothouses or other facilities.

The IDF top brass is well aware of the fact that the tunnels in Gaza constitute one of the most complex fields of terror. Tunnels which began as a means to smuggle weapons from Egypt to the Strip have become in the past few years a tool in the hands of terror organizations.

Army officials explain that a terror attack via a tunnel could have strategic ramifications, and therefore a lot of effort is exerted into uncovering such tunnels.

"The uncovering of a tunnel is a very complicated and requires great effort on different levels. These days we are continuing in our attempts to uncover additional tunnels and are certain that such tunnels exist in different places across the country," the sources said.

Never for a second think the battle against the Palestinians is over the battle goes on in operations day in and day out. Great job by the troops, they most likely have kept a soldier from being kidnapped in the future.

Palestinian Pimp At Work

Peres Plan: Release all Palestinian prisoners over 5 years Peres Plan: Release all Palestinian prisoners over 5 years Dr. Aaron Lerner Date: 13 August 2007

Maariv correspondent Ben Caspit reports in today's edition that Prime
Minister Olmert and other senior members of the Government have rejected
President Shimon Peres' plan to set a schedule to release all Palestinian
security prisoners over the course of five years in a "prisoners for
security" deal. Under the plan, Israel would release two thousand prisoners
each year subject to the security performance of the PA.

Peres maintains that it is pointless to transfer territory to the PA at this
time as they are not able to handle it.

It really doesn't matter what job Peres has, he is still the biggest pimp for the Palestinians. It doesn't matter if he is out begging the world for money for the Palestinians which goes through his fund located in the Cayman Islands, where who knows how much goes tro Shimon and how much to the "poor" Palestinians. Or his latest idea of setting terrorist free, it doesn't matter Peres loves the Palestinians more than he does Jews.

10 Palestinians were reported killed and 14 wounded Tuesday as IDF troops,
backed up by aircraft, intensified their operations in the southern Gaza
Strip in order to root out Hamas and Islamic Jihad operatives.

Troops faced severe resistance in the operations in Khan Yunis as they came
heavy under fire and a grenade was hurled at a tank. The soldiers fired back
at the attackers.

Also during the operations, troops discovered bombs and explosive belts.

In the latest IAF strike in the town, the Islamic Jihad said six of its
members were killed. The IDF said it would look into the report.

Early Tuesday morning, two Hamas operatives were killed in clashes with
soldiers. Two civilians were also killed, Hamas and Palestinian medical
officials said.

Hamas said one of its men died in a pre-dawn airstrike, east of Khan Yunis,
and a second was killed along with his 70-year-old mother when ground troops
fired at their house.

Palestinian medical officials said a second civilian, Ibrahim al-Shami, 40,
was shot dead by soldiers when he went out onto the roof of his house and
that of a total of eight gunmen and seven civilians were wounded in the
fighting.

The IDF confirmed it carried out the first strike, saying it targeted
Palestinian terrorists in the area. However, it said the second shooting was
not carried out from the air, but rather by troops on the ground that
identified hitting one gunman.

Also Tuesday, four Palestinians slipped into Israel through the heavily
guarded Israel-Gaza border fence, the army said. It was the second such
infiltration in two days. Four suspects were apprehended in southern Israel
and questioned, the army said.

It was not immediately clear if the Palestinians were gunmen or civilians
looking for work in Israel.

Later Tuesday, a Kassam rocket damaged a greenhouse in the western Negev.

Nobody was wounded in the attack.
