Gaza Banks Nixed by Bank Hapoalim
Gaza Banks Nixed by Bank Hapoalim(IsraelNN.com) Palestinian Authority banks in Gaza may be shutting down after Bank Hapoalim, Israel’s largest commercial bank, Tuesday announced its intention to sever its ties with the Gaza-based financial institutions. PA bankers fear other Israeli banks will follow Bank Hapoalim’s lead, refusing to transfer shekel currency and forcing the closure of the Gaza banks.
The move comes in the wake of a decision by the security cabinet last week to officially declare Hamas-controlled Gaza as an “enemy entity.” The designation allows Israel to legally cut off fuel and electricity to Gaza, under international law. Government officials in the Jewish State have assured U.N. officials that humanitarian aid will continue to flow into Gaza regardless of other actions.
This is a start towards cutting Gaza off and making them pay the price for the daily Qassam rocket attacks on Israel.
We need to step up the isolation of Gaza by cutting of fuel, water, food and electricity.
Their needs to be a price for attacking Israel.
