Grow Up
When reading this article there are some basic facts that you must keep in mind.
First I was born and raised in America and have served as a deputy sheriff in a major west coast sheriff’s department.
Second my family can trace our heritage in America back before an independent country called America existed. Representatives of my family have fought in every war since their arrival and I see no reason for a representative of our family not to fight in every war in America’s future.
America should leave the Middle East.
American leaders have never understood the way the Middle East works, nor do they show any sign of learning.
The list of American mistakes in the Middle East is long and has resulted in oceans of blood being shed, while you historically have sat back in safety with an ocean to guard your borders.
America allowed and according to some, even assisted in the down fall of the Shah of Iran Allowing the modern Islamic revolution to gain a base from which to spread jihad.
Your citizen were held hostage in Iran for 444 days and you were powerless to gain their freedom.
The Iranians bombed your Embassy and the Marines in Beirut and you were powerless to hit back thus building in the minds of your enemies that you were a paper tiger.
On 9-11, for the first time you were attacked and made to feel the sword of Islam, you wanted to strike back, and you did in Afghanistan and Iraq.
But you struck out of anger and not as chess master would after looking at the board and understanding all the nuances of the players, who has what power and who serves what function.
You removed Saddam Hussein, who like the Shah was not the model of a leader that America likes to see, but who like the Shah had a role to play in keeping the situation in the Middle East under control and the forces of Islamic jihad locked in their bottle.
Your actions first under President Carter and now under President Bush have strengthened the hands of the jihad masters of Iran.
However you still fail to learn what the real Middle East is like.
You have provided a safe haven in northern Iraq for the PKK Kurdish terrorists, who have been using the American presence as cover to strike across the border into Turkey with almost daily terror attacks that have claimed Turkish lives.
You have politicians in America calling to divide Iraq into three parts with the northern part being for the Kurds. But since you fail to understand the Middle East you are blind to the fact that this action on your part will result in Turkey invading northern Iraq to defend itself against the Kurds.
This week a resolution was passed in committee of the House of Representatives condemning the World War One deaths of Armenians as genocide. This has resulted in the following statements by Turkey’s top general Yasar Buyukanit told daily Milliyet newspaper that a congressional committee's approval of the measure had already harmed ties between the two countries.
"If this resolution passed in the committee passes the House as well, our military ties with the U.S. will never be the same again," Buyukanit was quoted as saying by Milliyet.
"I'm the military chief, I deal with security issues. I'm not a politician," Buyukanit was quoted as saying by Milliyet. "In this regard, the U.S. shot its own foot."
America can not afford to drive a wedge between herself and Turkey for a number of reasons.
First 70% of the supplies received by air for the American military in Iraq travels via Turkey.
Second and even more important by pushing Turkey from the west the power of the Generals is weakened and the power of those that seek Jihad in Turkey is strengthen. The west can not afford to allow Turkey to leave behind the reforms that were instituted by
Mustafa Kemal , the first President of the Republic of Turkey following World War One.
Kemal was later in 1934 honored by the Turkish parliament by being named "Atatürk",
“Father of the Turks”.
This week we are witness, to efforts by the Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice during her visit to the Middle East to gain consensus of the leadership of Israel and the Palestinians before the Annapolis Peace Conference.
Yesterday after meetings with Israeli Cabinet Minister Yishai, Secretary Rice stated "We also have a vision of a Jewish and democratic country. President Bush is a true friend of Israel, particularly during the hard times. We have common enemies.”
These statements made by Rice at first glance sound good, but are they true?
Is President Bush a true friend of Israel?
I think the facts speak differently.
If President Bush were a true friend of Israel, would he be pushing a conference which the very goal of which is to remove land from the Jewish people and to divide the eternal capitol of the Jewish people, Jerusalem?
Would not a true friend be telling Israel you have tried what we have wanted you to do for years.
Israel exchanged land for peace by your withdrawal from Gaza. Good for you, but we all must admit that the facts on the ground show that it was a total failure that has placed Israeli lives at risk and has given the terrorist of Jihad a new foothold in the world.
Would not a friend be telling Israel that to give up any more land is not in the interest of Israel nor America’s war on terrorism?
The Secretary spoke of common enemies, really who are our common enemies?
Israel has many enemies in the region, Palestinians, Egyptians, Syria, Saudi Arabia,
Lebanon, Iraq, Iran, Kuwait, Yemen, and so on.
America has former Presidents and members of Congress on the staff of servants of the Saudi royal family and is allies with many of Israel’s enemies.
America and Israel have one common enemy, Iran.
So America seeks to weaken the one true friend it has in the Middle East by forcing Israel to give up land which will be used as a base for terror strikes against Israel the first week that Israel retreats from Judea, Samaria (west bank) and divides Jerusalem.
If America is allowed to bumble around the Middle East the future, will be war in the northern part of Iraq, as Turkey invades.
This will result in Turkey being cut off from the west, which may bring about the fall of the generals, the result of which would push Turkey into the arms of Jihad.
Israel will become weakened as it falls under massive daily terror attacks and is condemned for retaliation efforts against the newly created terror state called Palestine.
Investors will pull their funds out of the terror racked nation even with the technological strides being made by the collective brain power of the Jewish State this results in a weakening of the Israeli economy.
Who is to say if a future American President would still support Israel as the State fights for its life against the bastard child of a former American President, the Palestinian State?
America fails to take heed of the lesson of Sun Tzu, the Chinese philosopher on war, when it comes to knowing ones self and ones enemies, being essential for victory.
America operates in the Middle East not only as a naïve child about the true nature of the enemy, but also blind due to language, cultural and religious differences.
The ramification for a lack of such knowledge of your enemy is your inevitable defeat.
The world can not afford to pay the price of an American defeat.
The defeat of the West by Islam would plunge the world into a new Dark Age and result in a slaughter that will make World War Two, Hitler, Stalin, and Mao pale by comparison.
The road to defeat begins in Jerusalem.
Israel forced to divide Jerusalem and retreat from Judea and Samaria (west bank) will soon baring Divine Intervention be defeated resulting in a psychological victory for the forces of Jihad not to mention the murder of 6,000,000 Jews.
American leaders must seek a face saving path to cancel the so called Peace Summit scheduled for next month in Annapolis, then stand by Israel as we battle the terrorist society that the Palestinians have built for themselves.
America must learn to stand by their friends such as Turkey and to identify their enemies such as Saudi Arabia, who funds Islamic terror along with filling the bank accounts of retired American politicians.
The time has come for America to grow up and face some harsh facts in the Middle East before it is too late and the lot is cast.
