Police Against Indictment in Bank Leumi Case

(IsraelNN.com) A police team investigating Prime Minister Ehud Olmert’s behavior in the sale of Bank Leumi shares in 2005 has found some suspicious activity, but has decided to recommend against an indictment. Police say there is not sufficient evidence against Olmert, who allegedly acted illegally to promote his friends’ interests when serving as acting Finance Minister.

Olmert is currently under investigation for three other affairs: purchasing a house at far below market value, allegedly in turn for obtaining benefits for the contractor, dealing with a case involving a friend while serving as Minister of Trade and Labor, and allegedly making political appointments while heading the Small Business Administration.

History does in fact repeat itself.

Israel is asked to attend some American backed peace summit, and the Prime Minister of Israel is all of a sudden being investigated for corruption.

Israel attends the summit and the Prime Minister agrees to weaken Israel's hold on our land and like magic the charges are dropped.

How can this be?
