Olmert: Evacuation Law Should be 'Seriously Considered'
(IsraelNN.com) Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Knesset members from ultra-leftist Meretz discussed the application of the Evacuation-Compensation Law to residents of Judea and Samaria, and Olmert said the idea "must be seriously considered," according to the Jerusalem Post.
The leftist MKs called on Prime Minister Ehud Olmert to dismantle the outposts in Judea and Samaria they call "illegal," to cease construction beyond the Green Line and to halt the expansion of the Jerusalem neighborhood of Har Homa.
Olmert said Israel was being "extremely careful" and that construction in Judea and Samaria was only being carried out in larger settlement blocs. Olmert reportedly also said he was satisfied with the stability of his coalition.
As I reported last week Haim Ramon started to push this bill in the Knesset and now it is starting to get traction.
We are going to loose Judea and Samaria including parts of Jerusalem if we are not willing to fight to keep them.
