Terror Alert
Israeli Embassies on Heightened Alert(IsraelNN.com) Israel's embassies abroad have beefed up security following the death of top Hizbullah terrorist Imad Mughniyeh in Damascus.
Embassy staff have been instructed to be especially alert to the goings-on around the embassies, not to make the fact that they are Israeli conspicuous and to be wary of attempts by Hizbullah to kidnap them.
Military sources told the Hebrew-language News First Class website that the IDF will not reinforce forces in the north of the country in response to Mughniyeh's demise. The IDF believes Hizbullah will not respond to Mughniyeh's death by firing Katyusha rockets, and would prefer to carry out a large scale terror operation, possibly on an Israeli embassy or at Jewish community center abroad.
Terror Gang Threatens Israeli Leadership(IsraelNN.com) The PFLP terror group threatened Wednesday to attack Israel's leadership in response to the killing of Hizbullah arch-terrorist Imad Mughniyeh.
The organization's communiqué said: "The Zionist murderers and their collaborators who damaged the victories of the resistance and murdered the leader and holy warrior Mughniyeh and the additional martyrs who were killed by the Zionist treason, hatred and Nazism, must know that the hand of the resistance and its people will respond with bullets and murderous explosives [at the] heads, throats and chests of the leaders and heads of the Zionist terror and its collaborators."
"Those who planned and schemed to kill (…) Mughniyeh know full well the martyrs elevated status and his total jihadi role," the statement said. The word "jihad" refers to a Muslim holy war.
