Arab Interim Parliament (AIP) President Mohammad Al-Saqer called on
Wednesday upon Arab, regional and international parliaments, the UN, Arab
League and the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) to combat the
Israeli scheme to divide the Aqsa Mosque into separate sections for Muslims
and Jews.
Al-Saqer said in a statement to the press that the Israeli plan "is crime
much graver than burning of the Aqsa Mosque in 1969." He added, that the
Jewish settlement plans and digging under the Aqsa Mosque had reached a
dangerous stage. Asserting that the continuing Israeli violations of
international resolutions and the Fourth Geneva agreement in 1949 exceeded
all boundaries.
Al-Sager asserted that such inhumane activities are unacceptable, especially
as they are increasing on daily bases, including arrests, destruction,
building settlements and the separating wall in the West Bank.
Al-Sager called upon Palestinians to join efforts in facing this crisis and
overcome their domestic disputes, as the Jewish plans are a greater crisis.
