A Syrian on his side of the border opened fire at a group of Israeli civilians and soldiers who were making repairs on the Israeli side of the border fence, it was cleared for publication Sunday. The shooter then fled the scene.

There were no casualties, but vehicles were damaged. Security forces are combing the area on the Israeli side of the border. Israel also submitted a complaint to the UN force responsible for the area.
