About the Pictures We have had several inquiries about the photos in the banner. Moving from left to right...

A picture of Gamla in the Golan Heights. Gamla was built on the side of that hill, and earned the name, "The Masada of the North" for its fierce resistance to the Roman military during the Bar Kochba rebellion in the 2nd Century AD.

The Jerusalem War Memorial. Dedicated to those who died keeping western Jerusalem free during the 1948 War of Independence.

The Hurva Synagogue in Jerusalem's Old City. Destroyed after the 1948 war. The arch was reconstructed after Israel recaptured the Old City in 1967, to show the size of the dome.

Jaffa Gate, Jerusalem's Old City. That's David's Tower there in the distance.

Israel from space. The Mediterranean on the left, the Dead Sea on the right, and Israel in-between. The edge of the Sinai Peninsula is in the lower left, and if you look carefully, you can see where Egyptian agriculture ends and Israeli agriculture begins.
